The AMES is for qualified graduates of METI’s Medical Exercise Program Director, Medical Exercise Specialist and/or Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist programs, this one-year deep dive into medical exercise training will help you take your expertise to a next level. 

The intricately designed AMES program seeks to touch on all advanced subjects related to medical exercise. The lesson plan throughout the year strives for students to take away a mastery of MET knowledge and real-world application.

AMES Program Components
The AMES residency is structured to arm participants with the knowledge and abilities they need to make medical exercise application simple. This is done through step-by-step MET skills outlining advanced sequencing and then practical application to MET scenarios.

All content is for the experienced MedXPRO looking for greater understanding. The AMES uses:

  • 26 detailed AMES client management sessions recordings
  • 60 – 90-minute recorded client sessions with step – by – step assessment and exercise guidelines
  • 4-day intensive workshop that gives your practical hands-on application
  • Exposure to various Neurological, Cardiovascular, Orthopedic and Metabolic conditions
  • And an extensive AMES Professional Resource center

AMES Recognition
Upon completion of the AMES each graduate will receive formal recognition as an “Advanced Medical Exercise Specialist” (AMES). The credential is more than a lofty title – it separates recipients from their peers by acknowledging their demonstrated skill and understanding above normal within the area of medical exercise training. AMES Content
The AMES program holds great value for those seeking to become leaders and expert practitioners in medical exercise training. Throughout the year-long residency, you will build advanced skills and knowledge in:

Assessment: Assessment teaches our residents how to appropriately apply assessment techniques to clients and use the date to determine the client’s functional needs and exercise program

Client Management: Client management focuses on honing our residents’ skills in effective communication, goal setting and program development/implementation.

Program Design and Progression: Program design and progression speak to a resident’s ability to develop training programs that assist clients reach their highest fitness and functional abilities while safely and effectively progressing the exercise.

Practice Management Systems: Practice management systems empower a resident with the skills to effectively and profitably manage and grow their practice.

Critical Thinking: Critical thinking in the context of medical exercise training coaches our residents on how to address complicated client situations logically, generating strategic exercise solutions which help their clients overcome functional limitations.

The Nuts & Bolts of AMES
26 Detailed Client Management Demonstrations: 26 recorded client management sessions will be released weekly (Thursdays) during the year-long AMES residency. Each session will include a review of the related anatomy/pathology of a region or condition while introducing advanced skills for real-time clients. The client management demonstrations discuss in-depth MET assessment and exercise techniques showing step-by-step procedures.

Learn Exact Sequences and Step-by-Step MET Application: The high degree of interactivity and working knowledge of AMES instructors allows residents to learn detailed application(s). Each client management session will highlight the precise sequencing of exercise processes in a step-by-step format – ensuring students are well-informed.

MET Professional Resources:  MedXPROs need more resources to assist them with the delivery of effective MET services. These resources are designed specifically for MedXPROS and include video tutorials, AMES office hour sessions, the advanced MAPPS protocols and the recordings of all AMES Client Management sessions.

4-Day Workshop: This one-of-a-kind workshop is designed to help you understand medical history, vital signs, manual muscle testing, goniometry and more. Right from exploring neurology, joint arthrokinematics, gait analysis assessment and other important topics, we ensure you master the concepts and gain proper understanding to supercharge your knowledge.

60 – 90 Minute Client Management Demonstrations – The client management demos are between 60  and 90 minutes – all crafted and designed to provide the residents with the practical information and application. Each demonstration contains objectives presented by advanced instructors, strengthening the application of skills and knowledge to your clients. The sessions are intensive and go into detailed elaboration, discussion, and review of case studies.

Neurological, Cardiovascular, Orthopedic and Metabolic Conditions: The sessions will provide information for the significant ailments’ clients will seek exercise remedies. Neurological, cardiovascular, orthopedic, and metabolic conditions are all covered in the AMES. Students will revel in advanced knowledge assisting with managing these conditions effectively using exercise.

See Every Aspect of MET Techniques, Skills and Management Applied: The informative client management sessions are in-depth and detailed on every aspect of real-world application. Instructors will describe and demonstrate MET techniques and skills development. Furthermore, they will explain the most effective client management processes and tailor medical exercise techniques to the clients.
