| If you are a personal trainer, massage therapist, kinesiologist, exercise physiologist, rehab professional or nurse developing fitness programs for clients with musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiovascular clients…the Medical Exercise Specialist (MES) workshop is for you. The Medical Exercise Specialist is internationally recognized by the medical and fitness communities as the standard certification for fitness professionals working with special population and post-rehab clients. The Medical Exercise Specialist offers advanced training for massage therapists, exercise physiologists, nurses and personal trainers who work closely with clients with neurologic, cardiovascular, metabolic and musculoskeletal disorders. This certification is the next step above the Post Rehab Conditioning Specialist. The MES covers more conditions in greater depth and detail. The MES workshop allows you to obtain the in-depth knowledge and skills in clinical anatomy, biomechanics, post rehab protocols, pathology, screening/assessment techniques for medical conditions of the upper and lower extremities and the spine. The MES program is divided into six modules which are outlined below. The final MES exam is 200 written questions and 10 case studies. The final MES exam must be proctored by a licensed medical professional (i.e. physical therapist, chiropractor, physician). There is no extra charge for the final MES examination. Complete this workshop, successful complete the MES exam with a score of 80% or better and become certified as a Medical Exercise Specialist (MES). You must also complete ten hours of observation in a physical therapy, chiropractic or rehab setting. The observation hours are required so the MES candidate will truly appreciate his or her role in the rehab spectrum. |
