Advanced Essentials of Post Rehab Fitness (AEPRF) is our one-day on-site post rehab workshop. Advanced Essentials is based on 15 years of teaching post rehab techniques and skills to post rehab professionals around the world. We have included the latest post rehab guidelines in this innovative course. This course is designed for the fitness professional that wants to get started in post rehab fitness and or needs a refresher on the latest post rehab guidelines. If you want to get started in this exciting and profitable arena but you aren’t sure where to begin or you feel you don’t have the skills and knowledge necessary to work with post rehab clients, register for the Advanced Essentials workshop.
After the completion of the Advanced Essentials workshop you will be able to:
- Develop post rehab services for over 20 medical conditions including diabetes; hypertension; lumbar disc herniation; osteoarthritis; shoulder impingement; total hip and knee replacement and many others.
- Perform a 12-point musculoskeletal screening on the post rehab client.
- Understand the clinical anatomy and pathology of conditions found in the extremities and the spine.
- Understand the impact of exercise on common medical conditions.
- Understand the role and scope of practice for the fitness professional working with post rehab and medical exercise clients.
- Identify the red flags and warning signs that indicate the client is in need of evaluation or treatment from a licensed medical professional.
You must possess at least ONE of these three prerequisities to enroll in the Advanced Essentials workshop:
- Certification as a personal trainer from a nationally recognized organization
- Hold a degree in a health or fitness related field (i.e. exercise physiology, kinesiology or nursing)
- Have one (1) year or more years experience working in a physical therapy, chiropractic or sports medicine clinic as a rehab/exercise technician.
Advanced Essentials workshop are held throughout North America. Each AEPRF participant receives the Essentials of Post Rehab Fitness DVD workshop including Current Topics in Post Rehab, Post Rehab Foundations and the 168-page Essentials of Post Rehab manual. Each participant also attends the one-day AEPRF workshop. You are also eligible, upon course completion, to sit for the PRCS exam. The PRCS exam consists of 100 written questions and five detailed case studies. Each PRCS examinee must complete 10 observation hours in a sports medicine, physical therapy or chiropractic facility. The PRCS exam must be administered by a licensed medical professional. Some of the conditions reviewed in the AEPRF course include:
